Welcome to the 2007 Western IDeA state's regional meeting on Evolutionary Medicine!
Evolutionary Medicine is a new and exciting interdisciplinary field that brings together physicians, biologists, anthropologists, psychologists, and others to address questions about the evolutionary origins of medical problems facing modern humans today. We chose Evolutionary Medicine as a theme for this meeting to appeal to the breadth of research being done within the IDeA community and to provide an inspiring forum for collaboration.
This event is being co-sponsored by three centers at the University of New Mexico, the COBRE Center for Evolutionary & Theoretical Immunology, the COBRE Integrative Program in Central Nervous System Pathophysiology Research and the newly-formed Center for Human Evolutionary Science.
